Tatarskie organizacje społeczne w latach 1988-2004

Abstract

The paper presents the way that Tartar social organizations in Lithuania proceeded in years 1988-2004. This way has led from founding of independent Lithuania and creation of Cultural Society of Lithuanian Tartars after creation of the uniform religious community called Lithuanian Union of Tartar Communities and basic religious institution of Tartars, muftiat. Among the attainment of these organiza¬tions attention should be paid to organizing of regional religious communities, rebuilding and reconstruction of mosques, appointment of clergymen (imams), strengthening of ties with Tartars living in Belarus and Poland, editorial activities with publishing "Lietuvos totoriai" monthly, organizing "Orient" - regular international scientific conferences with elements of entertainment, diverse forms of religious education and Tartar studies organized for youth.
