Socialization is a lifelong process. Therefore, scientists study human behaviour from family perspective and look for answers in family, i.e. in the inner environment of an individual. Family education is considered one of the major factors determining the de- velopment of an aggressive behaviour model. Family education is most effective when family relations are based on a constructive parent-child interaction, when parents care about their children‘s opinion and not only fulfil their reasonable ex- pectations and needs but also clearly define duties complying with the age and abili- ties of children. According to scientists, the reasons of unsuccessful learning and re- duced motivation to learn are also related to family. Thus, family has a huge impact on children‘s motivation to learn and on a successful learning process. The goal of this article is to analyse the opportunities enhancing learning motivation in family. The sample included 143 pupils in grades 9 - 10 with behaviour difficulties, pupils with low learning motivation and disadvantaged pupils. Pursuant to the research, usually the causes of reduced motivation to learn are related to personal qualities of pupils and to the family lifestyle. Scientifics identified the following pupils‘ personal problems: inability to collect thoughts and behaviour difficulties. Negative impact of a family lifestyle is determined by the lack of material resources and problems in the family. When pupils encounter learning problems, the assistance in the family is usually provided by their mothers/fathers who help their children with homework. Family-related causes have a huge impact on children‘s unwillingness to learn. In order to solve learning problems, assistance should be provided not only to the child (through enhancing his/her motivation) but also to family, since family is one undi- vided unit requiring multiple and complex assistance.
