Translation comparison of Shin Kyung-sook`s novel Please Look After Mom

For some decades starting with the close of the last century and continuing into present day literary theory notices the significance of nature scenes in the prose writings of different cultures and different languages. How significant are nature descriptions in the novel by Shin Kyoung-sook Please Look After Mom and are the English and Lithuanian translations of these nature narratives striving to produce a similar relationship between human beings and the biological species and places is the object of this presentation. The translation analysis attempts to compare what degree of interspecies relationship and relational ethics is read in translations of the novel into English and Lithuanian languages. Taken from this point of view the translation of emotional and value codes and poetics of narrative will be reviewed and compared.
