Crisis of the subject - this is the sign of modern philosophy. The philosophy of the "subject from capital letter" has come to a crossroad. The present article attempts to show the difference between the two types of conceptions of the nature of subjectivity. The search for individual identity and ontological security indicates the problem of their great scarcity in contemporary life. The first chapter subtitled "The Philosophy of a Schizoid Man and a Split World" notes that while Sartre wants to save subjectivity and the possibility of reciprocal relationships in a dehumanized world, - Sartre's world is radically split. In this position the object has not been humanized, but the subject has been objectivized so much that he sees himself as an object. Sartre describes the neurotic personality of our time - a lost, powerless, passive, empty and frightened subject in the schizoid world. This is a problem of psychoanalysis. But, on the other hand, this is rather the problem of power and impotence in a continuois battle for recognition. Sartre considered isolation and fusion the only real possibilities for human life. There is a radical problem of identity, because "Other-directed", "split" man is "ontologically insecure". This is a problem of social philosophy. The search for identity and ontological security indicates the problem of the subject situated between psychology and social philosophy. According to Sartre, social philosophy and psychoanalysis should be combined through finding the necessary mediations.
