In addition to the traditional responsibilities of education and research, universities now also have to pro-actively engage in the practical application of the results of scientific research and disseminate newly developed knowledge to help solve important problems in society. An entrepreneurial university, which is defined as the outcome of the third mission, takes on an important role in the development of innovation. Universities face the necessity to improve the quality of higher education, increases the potential of European universities to enhance not only their role in the society but also in the economic growth of the EU. The paper positions the promotion of university entrepreneurship with the help of ICT in the context of an innovation system with strong ties to digital supported collective intelligence and system thinking theories. By modelling entrepreneurial university, the empirical data from extensive qualitative research on Lithuanian academic institutions were applied. The proposed conceptual model of the promotion of university entrepreneurship distinguishes three levels: Macro, Mezzo, and Micro. The interaction between these levels delineates the various processes using the comprehensible ‘Where?’, ‘How?’, and ‘What For?’ questions. EU universities may apply the model in application of ICT for creating entrepreneurship promotion strategies and implementing specific entrepreneurial activities.

The paper positions the promotion of university entrepreneurship in the context of an innovation eco system with strong ties to collective intelligence and system thinking theories. By modelling entrepreneurial university, the empirical data from extensive qualitative research on Lithuanian academic institutions in the context of innovation system were applied. The triangulation approach was chosen in order to understand deeper the complexity of the entrepreneurial university. The empirical research consists of the qualitative expert interviews, content analysis and assessment of strategic documents from the national universities, The proposed conceptual model of the promotion of universitỳs entrepreneurship distinguishes three levels of interactions: Macro, Mezzo, and Micro. The synergy between these levels delineates the various processes using the comprehensible 'Where?', 'How?', and 'What For?' questions. The EU universities may apply the model for creating ICT supported entrepreneurship promotion strategies or/and by implementing specific entrepreneurial activities.

New technologies change our social – economic everyday life by making considerable impact on its quality. The healthcare in the meantime is becoming more and more dependent on information and communication technologies, which enable the development of high quality healthcare services. The deployment of new ICTs has the potential to increase organisational efficiency of healthcare providers, change the processes of work organisation and create the conditions for electronic patient information exchange between healthcare providers according to the nationally agreed standards. The main idea of the paper is a proposition that the engagement of various stakeholder groups into the process of e-Health development has the potential to pave a more effective way of introducing innovation in healthcare sector and contribute to the greater sustainability of achieved changes. E. sveikata yra vertintina kaip svarbiausia sveikatos sistemos valdymo inovacija, todėl susiduriama ne tik su techninėmis, bet ir su įvairiomis žmogiškojo faktoriaus problemomis, kurios būdingos diegiant naujoves. Monografijoje atskleidžiamas e. sveikatos plėtros mastas ir tendencijos iš suinteresuotųjų pusių tinklinės perspektyvos siekiant inovatyvumo ir tvaros sveikatos sistemoje. Pristatoma sukurta e. sveikatos suinteresuotųjų bendradarbiavimo platforma, kurioje sveikatos valdymo inovacijos ir socialinių technologijų galimybės sinergijoje su politinių, organizacinių ir vadybinių priemonių dinaminiu rinkiniu pateikia ir atnaujina politines organizacines ir vadybines priemones esamuoju laiku.

Implications: The discussed limitation of the use of the social entrepreneurship concept in Lithuania and partial comprehension of the concept in applicable laws is expected to initiate the review of legislation. Given the fact that the beginning of the phenomenon of social entrepreneurship at the national level can be identified, good foreign experience in the social entrepreneurship perspective is believed to be able to significantly contribute to entrepreneurship education initiatives currently developed in higher education institutions, i.e. this perspective is believed to be considered in the development of entrepreneurship education subjects for interdisciplinary studies and will not be explicitly constructed from the very beginning. It is expected that the improvement of entrepreneurship education courses and the procedures for the change thereof encountered in countries having older traditions of such education will be avoided that way. Empirical research results are believed to contribute to the perception of the exclusivity of the situation in Lithuania and to encourage the search for unique solutions for national purposes.
