Abstract
The article seeks to bring out peculiarities of adolescents’ conflicting actions when parents become their contradictors. Conflicting pupils’ ternary behavior was determined in the research: 1) parents’ aggressive treatment 2) parents‘ egressive treatment 3) parents’ regressive treatment. The research was carried out with 586 pupils of the age from 12 to 16 (7th–9th grades), learning at town, regional and country Lithuanian secondary schools. The results of the empirical research show that there are few pupils who act usually controversially with their parents: parents’ regressive treatment is appropriate for 15% of pupils, eggressive – for 12% of pupils, and aggressive – for 7%. It was also established that aggressive as well as regressive conflicting is mainly under the influence of gender (males are more conflicting). According to the data analysis there are differences in conflicting behavior regarding age: younger pupils (of 7th grade) are more physically aggressive and auto aggressive as well as regressive with their parents though older ones (of 9th grade) are more verbally aggressive.
