Abstract
The present article covers the issues on the usage of GPS (global positioning system) and summaries author’s conclusions on benefits of the usage of this device in border guard service. GPS is a multifunctional device, which allows its user to fix places of illegal border crossings and trespassers’ detention, to plan routes and coordinate border guard duties cooperation during trespassers’ detection and detention. In the author’s opinion the usage of GPS makes border guard service more effective and fruitful. At the same time it allows to raise the efficiency of the use of Border Guard means of transport and personnel.
