European Development Policy is one of the fields of the European Union’s activity that are relatively unknown and underestimated in the so-called new member states which Lithuania belongs to. Therefore, the main purpose of this article is to introduce the main objectives and instruments of this policy in the field of food security and rural development and to reveal some important flaws of this policy by critical analysis.
