With limited capital resources of Lithuania, foreign investment is a very important factor in promoting the growth of production, export, rasing the quality of goods and services, creating new jobs and helping companies to successfully compete under the market conditions. The current situation and the tendencies of foreign direct investment, the investment environment are analyzed. The effect of the foreign direct investment upon the national economy is discussed. The report contains a statistic analysis and assessment of trends in the development of foreign direct investment in Lithuania and a comparative analysis with the situation in other Baltic countries.
