Problems of Global Social Inequality in Interpreting Global Political Economy

Abstract

The article analyzes the problem of global social asymmetry and inequality. This is one of the main global problems of our time. The author uses the methodology of global (international) political economy. Global political economy - a relatively new direction of economic science (the first scientific work on global political economy appeared in the 70’s of the XX century). Now there is no single methodology for global political economy. Nevertheless, it is increasingly use as a qualitative, methodologically sound tool for analyzing modern processes. Because global political economy studies how politics determines the development of events in the global economy and how the global economy determines politics. In addition, the global political economy is developing an «eclectic paradigm that claims to explain the interaction of domestic and foreign policies, national and supranational levels of political and economic decision-making, and the various types of actors that make such decisions (and this is not only national governments)».
