The aim of this article was to create specific recommendations based on the analysis of the primary research concerning the factors and measures influencing the motivation of students, which should be included in the design of the motivational program in the academic environment. Only when the university’s motivational program builds on the elements that support motivation with a focus on the needs of stakeholders it will lead to improved performance, increased levels of motivation and support for the creativity of those involved. The research consisted of a detailed analysis of selected issues related to decision-making on motivation and creativity in the academic environment. The analysis also examined the impact of motivational factors on students and the choice of measures that would help their future development. The results show that the change in the academic motivation of the respondents was mostly caused by the gradual maturation and development of their personality. To support their future development, respondents consider these measures to be effective: greater interest in students and their opinions or the creation of good relationships and a positive atmosphere. An appropriately set motivation program should maximize the potential of all stakeholders that in the academic environment include not only teachers and managers, but also students. Only if the program includes motivational tools that respond to their needs, it has a high probability of success.
