Peculiarities of Examination of a Person in Latvian Criminal Procedure

Tactics of examination of a person is the part of criminalistic tactics; scientific and practical opinions about regularities of performing examination during investigation are generalized in this part. Historically the content of any investigative activity during criminal procedure in Latvia is regulated by legal norms of the Criminal Procedure Law. General requirements for performing examination are also included in legal norms. These normative regulations are the legal base and methodical landmark for performing investigative examination during criminal procedure in Latvia. Investigative examination of a person is complicated, multi-stage procedure; the main stages of it are the following: 1) preparing for examination, 2) carrying out of examination, 3) ending of examination. Completeness of organizational activity in the sphere of investigating criminal offences in Latvia foresees with necessity critical attitude to gained experience about normative regulation and practical performing of investigative examination. Therefore evaluation of normative grounding and practical value of peculiarities of examination could become objective push for future acientific and practical rationalization of this investigative activity in Latvia criminal procedure.
