In recent years, the area of career management has been extensively explored. To stay active in the labour market, to adapt to constant shifts in the environment, there is a need for competences to manage one’s career effectively. It is important, that higher education constantly reviews and adjusts career services in order to educate students in the field of career management, develop their skills, expand their knowledge and assist students in fulfilling their career aspirations. This master thesis addresses the questions related to the development of students’ career management competences. The aim of work is to define the students‘ needs in the development of career competences, strategies and resources in the context of personal career. The objectives are to discuss the changes in the career concept, define the concept of career management and discuss the career management models, analyse the career management education trends in higher education institutions and students‘ attitude towards career as well as career success, explore and display the needs in the field of career management education. The research was conducted by using quantitative research method – an electronic survey.
