Abstract

Graduation dissertation is about “The factors, that influence juvenile delinquency in Panevezys city”. The most used notions: juvenile, juvenile delinquent, juvenile delinquency, criminogenic factors, family, school, occupation, alcoholism, the drug habit. In this final work I analyzed the juvenile delinquency from the legal and criminological views. At first I mention that juvenile delinquency is still one of the main problems in Lithuania. The number of crimes made by the juvenile increased during period of 1994-1997. In our days the number of crimes made by juvenile became more stabil but it is still very high. I analyzed the tendence of the juvenile delinquency and tired to find out what are the main social reasons that stimulate children to make crimes. It is very important because more and more frequently children under 16 makes difficult crimes. Also it is important to mention that more and more children makes crimes repeatedly. The main aim of this work is to analyze the system of juvenile delinquency, as the social problem. By using statistic data, questionnaire method to develop main reasons that stimulate children to make crimes in Panevezys. The main tasks are to describe the legal status of the juvenile, as a member of the sociaty; to describe the main reasons and the structure of the delinquency; to compare the theoretical and empirical research results with the statistical data of Panevėžys. One of the main goals of the improving criminal prevention is to turn attention to the juvenile education. It is also important to develope their social and pedagogical care. And to improve the mechanism of the delinquency prevention. Analyzed theme is important not only as a subject of criminal law, but also as a subject of the social work. During the researches I formulated the problem that we still do not have the working mechanism of the juvenile delinquency prevention. And the numper of juvenile delinquency is rising.
