The subject matter of this paper, which consists of three parts, is recruitment and employment guarantees of women and persons under 18 in European Union labour law and Lithuanian labour law. Special features of employment guarantees of women and persons under 18 are disclosed in this work while comparing European Union labour law, recommendations of International Labour Organization and Lithuanian labour law. The documents are compared together and the influence of European Union labour law to the national law of member countries is presented. Labour law consists of general and special standards, therefore the research starts with the analysis of generalization and differentiation of labour law according to the principle of psychophysical features of a employee. This is included in the first part of the work. The second part analyses recruitment and employment guarantees of women and persons under 18 in the European Union and Lithuania. The analyzed law norms of the special part are applied to pregnant women, women who have recently birth and breastfeeding women and persons under 18: the law norms of the time of work and rest, safety and health work conditions, holidays, prohibiting to dismiss the employee and other institutes and their problems while applying them in practice. The third part analyses court practice in employment cases, related to the assurance of the employment guarantees to women and persons under 18. After analyzing the legal guarantees oh workers, conclusions and suggestions corresponding to them are present.
