The subject of the Master‘s thesis: emigration of young and employable people. More and more young people emigrate from Lithuania to EU countries for economic or other reasons. It is a serious problem; however, it receives too little attention from Lithuanian governmental institutions. Most students, young and employable people prefer hard manual but well-paid work abroad to work in their country according to their speciality and qualifications. The object: reasons for emigration. The aim: to establish the reasons for emigration and present possible ways of solution referring to the read sources and research results. The objectives: • To establish emigration conception; • To consider reasons of lithuanian emigration; • To carry out the analysis of reasons for emigration among young people. • To present emigration management possibilities. The hypothesis: 1. People emigrate from Lithuania because of higher salaries abroad. 2. The reason for emigrating is unemployment in Lithuania. This thesis deals with the course of emigration process and reasons that make people emigrate. A short survey of legal acts regulating migration is presented. The thesis is based on the results of the interview with Lithuanian emigrants who are living and working abroad at the moment, who used to live but returned to Lithuania: students, elderly people, highly qualified and skilful people. The aim of the interview is to establish the rate of emigration as well as to analyse qualitative aspects motivating emigration, reasons, etc. The method of comparison is employed to present the results of the interview. The thesis ends with conclusions and recommendations for Lithuanian migration institutions.
