Antanas Kriščiukaitis - Vyriausiojo Lietuvos tribunolo pirmininkas

Antanas Kriščiukaitis - pirmasis Vyriausiojo tribunolo pirmininkas bei teisėjas, prisidėjęs prie teismų sistemos reglamentavimo, jos ir kitų teisinių institucijų kūrimo, darbo organizavimo sunkiomis aplinkybėmis. Nepaisant įvairių sunkumų, nuolat augančio darbo krūvio, pirmininko A. Kriščiukaičio vadovaujamas Vyriausiasis tribunolas vykdė visus jam keliamus uždavinius ir rodė puikius darbo rezultatus, Pirmininkui A. Kriščiukaičiui aktyviai prisidedant prie teismus reglamentuojančių teisės aktų tobulinimo, nuolat rodant asmeninę iniciatyvą, buvo gerinamas teismų darbas ir didinamas visuomenės pasitikėjimas jais. A. Kriščiukaitis savo profesine ir visuomenine veikla, sąžiningumu ir kompetencija buvo pelnęs „vyriausiojo teisėjo" autoritetą ir laikomas pavyzdžiu kitiems teisėjams.

Antanas Kriščiukaitis was one of the famous Lithuanian lawyers, but today he is known only as a writer under a pseudonym Aišbe. For example, in different Lithuanian encyclopaedias A. Kriščlukaitis is introduced as a writer with legal education, who had occupied different offices in courts and was a professor at a Lithuanian university. These short biographies emphasise his contribution in press, characterize the features of his writings - storeys, feuilletons, articles and translations. However, they do not discuss his merits as a lawyer, which are equally important as his achievements in literature. The discussion of these merits is usually limited to listing the offices he occupied and titles he held. Antanas Kriščiiukaitis has graduated from the Law Faculty of Moscow University, however, due to the denationalization policy of the Russian Empire he could not work in Lithuania. He returned to Lithuania only after the reestablishment of statehood of the Republic of Lithuania, when he already had a dozens of years of practice as a judge in the Russian Empire and was fifty six years old. Once he returned from Russia, he was appointed as the first chief justice of the Supreme Court (The Highest Tribunal) of Lithuania. A.
