    Fenomenologinė prieiga yra viena pagrindinių kokybinių psichologinių tyrimų praktikoje. Joje galima skirti dvi perspektyvas: aprašomąją fenomenologiją ir interpretacinę fenomenologiją. Iš tyrėjo, ketinančio taikyti fenomenologinę strategiją, tikimasi gebėjimo vadovautis fenomenologine nuostata, kurios vaidmuo yra esminis tiek renkant tyrimo duomenis, tiek juos analizuojant. Šis straipsnis orientuotas į E. Husserlio filosofija grindžiamos aprašomosios fenomenologijos lauką, kurį fenomenologinės psichologijos kontekste reprezentuoja A. Giorgi ir F. Wertzas. Tikslas yra atskleisti esmines fenomenologinės nuostatos charakteristikas, išskirti teorinius akcentus ir pateikti tam tikras praktines įžvalgas tyrėjams, nusprendusiems atlikti aprašomąjį fenomenologinį tyrimą. Tikslui pasiekti naudojama literatūros analizė. Fenomenologinė nuostata apibūdinama pasitelkiant du kontekstus – E. Husserlio fenomenologinę filosofiją ir jos prielaidomis grindžiamą fenomenologinę psichologiją – glaustai pristatant abu bei parodant jų sąsajas ir skiriamuosius bruožus.

    Increased interest in positive changes in the aftermath of traumatic events led researchers to examine assumptions about the process of posttraumatic growth (PTG). However, existing studies often use samples from mixed trauma survivors and investigate separate factors and their associations with growth. Therefore, the purpose of the current study was to examine the path from centrality of event to PTG involving intrusive and deliberate rumination and self-blame as a coping strategy in women survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV). The study sample consisted of 200 women with a history of IPV (ages 18–69, M = 44.79, SD = 12.94). Results of the path analysis indicated that higher centrality of event was related to higher levels of intrusive rumination which was positively related to self-blame and deliberate rumination eventually leading to PTG. Indirect effects from centrality of event to PTG through intrusive and deliberate rumination, and from intrusive to deliberate rumination through self-blame were examined. This study gave support to some theoretical assumptions of the process of PTG and pointed out problematic areas of investigation of coping strategies in this process.

    Onkologinių pacientų sutuoktinių baimės dėl ligos atsinaujinimo patirtys
    [Fear of Cancer Recurrence: Lived Experiences of Cancer Survivors’ Spouses]
    research article[2022][S4][S006][14];
    Psichologija. Vilnius : Vilniaus universiteto leidykla, 2022, vol. 66., p. 33-46

    Vienas iš dažniausių emocinių sunkumų, kuriuos patiria onkologinių pacientų, baigusių gydymo kursą, sutuoktiniai – tai baimė, kad artimojo liga gali atsinaujinti. Šio tyrimo tikslas – atskleisti pacientų, kuriems dabar onkologinės ligos remisija, sutuoktinių baimės dėl ligos atsinaujinimo patirtis. Tyrimui pasirinkta kokybinė tyrimo strategija. Tyrime dalyvavo septyni sutuoktiniai. Duomenys rinkti pusiau struktūruotu interviu, o analizuoti indukcinės teminės analizės metodu. Analizė atskleidė, kad baimė dėl ligos atsinaujinimo – tai tarpasmeninis išgyvenimas, kai nerimas poroje persiduoda vienam nuo kito. Sutuoktiniams ligos atsinaujinimas asocijuojasi su mirtimi ir grėsme netekti mylimo žmogaus. Gyvendami su ligos atsinaujinimo grėsme jie patiria ne tik nesaugumą, nežinomybę dėl ateities, kontrolės praradimą, bet ir labiau brangina gyvenimą. Baimę sumažinti padeda planavimas ir kontrolė, reli-gingumas, vengimas, baimės pažinimas. Siekiant padėti sumažinti sutuoktinių baimę, psichologinėse intervencijose turėtų būti skiriama dėmesio baimės išreiškimui saugioje erdvėje bei mokymuisi priimti ir toleruoti nežinomybę.

    Background: Clinicians increasingly serve youths from societal/cultural backgrounds different from their own. This raises questions about how to interpret what such youths report. Rescorla et al. (2019, European Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, 28, 1107) found that much more variance in 72,493 parents’ ratings of their offspring’s mental health problems was accounted for by individual differences than by societal or cultural differences. Although parents’ reports are essential for clinical assessment of their offspring, they reflect parents’ perceptions of the offspring. Consequently, clinical assessment also requires self-reports from the offspring themselves. To test effects of individual differences, society, and culture on youths’ self-ratings of their problems and strengths, we analyzed Youth Self-Report (YSR) scores for 39,849 11–17 year olds in 38 societies. Methods: Indigenous researchers obtained YSR self-ratings from population samples of youths in 38 societies representing 10 culture cluster identified in the Global Leadership and Organizational Behavioral Effectiveness study. Hierarchical linear modeling of scores on 17 problem scales and one strengths scale estimated the percent of variance accounted for by individual differences (including measurement error), society, and culture cluster. ANOVAs tested age and gender effects. Results: Averaged across the 17 problem scales, individual differences accounted for 92.5% of variance, societal differences 6.0%, and cultural differences 1.5%. For strengths, individual differences accounted for 83.4% of variance, societal differences 10.1%, and cultural differences 6.5%. Age and gender had very small effects. Conclusions: Like parents’ ratings, youths’ self-ratings of problems were affected much more by individual differences than societal/cultural differences. Most variance in self-rated strengths also reflected individual differences, but societal/cultural effects were larger than for problems, suggesting greater influence of social desirability. The clinical significance of individual differences in youths’ self-reports should thus not be minimized by societal/cultural differences, which—while important—can be taken into account with appropriate norms, as can gender and age differences.

    Despite being bio-epidemiological phenomena, the causes and effects of pandemics are culturally influenced in ways that go beyond national boundaries. However, they are often studied in isolated pockets, and this fact makes it difficult to parse the unique influence of specific cultural psychologies. To help fill in this gap, the present study applies existing cultural theories via linear mixed modeling to test the influence of unique cultural factors in a multi-national sample (that moves beyond Western nations) on the effects of age, biological sex, and political beliefs on pandemic outcomes that include adverse financial impacts, adverse resource impacts, adverse psychological impacts, and the health impacts of COVID. Our study spanned 19 nations (participant N = 14,133) and involved translations into 9 languages. Linear mixed models revealed similarities across cultures, with both young persons and women reporting worse outcomes from COVID across the multi-national sample. However, these effects were generally qualified by culture-specific variance, and overall more evidence emerged for effects unique to each culture than effects similar across cultures. Followup analyses suggested this cultural variability was consistent with models of pre-existing inequalities and socioecological stressors exacerbating the effects of the pandemic. Collectively, this evidence highlights the importance of developing culturally flexible models for understanding the cross-cultural nature of pandemic psychology beyond typical WEIRD approaches.

    Siekiant padėti mokytojams suprasti savo bendravimo reikšmę mokinių motyvacijai ir gerovei, pastaruoju metu SDT tyrėjai (Aelterman et al., 2019) yra pasiūlę Žiedinį modelį, kuris padeda geriau suprasti mokytojų bendravimo būdų, (ne)motyvuojančių mokinių, įvairovę ir sąveikas. Šio tyrimo tikslas – pritaikyti Žiedinio modelio pagrindu sukurtą Situacijų mokykloje klausimyno mokinių versiją Lietuvos mokyklai. Tyrime dalyvavo 715 septintų ir aštuntų klasių mokinių (50,9 % merginų, amžiaus vidurkis 13,42 metų) iš dešimties Lietuvos mokyklų. SISQ buvo naudotas matuoti (ne)motyvuojantį mokytojų elgesį, taip pat buvo vertintas mokinių elgesio ir kognityvinis įsitraukimas besimokant bei gerovė (teigiamos ir neigiamos emocijos, pasitenkinimas pamokomis). Daugiamačio skaliavimo, patvirtinamosios faktorinės analizės ir subskalių įverčių tarpusavio koreliacijų analizė parodė SISQ struktūros atitiktį Žiediniam modeliui, kuriame keturi (ne)motyvuojantys mokytojų elgesio stiliai ir jiems būdingi bendravimo būdai gali būti grafiškai pavaizduoti dviejų dimensijų – poreikių patenkinimo ir direktyvumo – atžvilgiu. Sistemingos koreliacijos tarp aštuonių (ne)motyvuojančių mokytojų bendravimo būdų ir mokinių funkcionavimo rodiklių parodė laipsnišką bendravimo būdų reikšmę mokinių įsitraukimui mokantis, jų patiriamoms teigiamoms ir neigiamoms emocijoms bei pasitenkinimui pamokomis. Tyrimas patvirtino SISQ lietuviškos mokinių versijos tinkamumą naudoti Lietuvos edukaciniame kontekste.

    Many countries, namely, Malaysia, Lithuania, and Spain, shifted to online assessment during the COVID-19 pandemic. This qualitative case study, which involved 18 undergraduate students from the three countries, was conducted to probe insights into their online assessment experience. Data were interpreted from the perspective of the expectancy-value theory of motivation, which focuses on intrinsic attainment, utility, and cost values. The findings revealed that students were motivated to complete their assessment since they experienced flexibility besides having effective assessment guidelines. The positive experiences were related to intrinsic and attainment values; however, the students were also demotivated when stressed, indicating the high-cost value. Utility value was found to overlap with cost value in this study because students were dissatisfied with the online assessment and expressed less preference for this approach in future. This contributes to our understanding that educators must consider utility values when preparing online assessments. The pedagogical implications of this study revolve around the importance of a checklist, mock exams, alternative assessment (Plan B), and video demos for an effective assessment.
