The master's thesis examines the legal nature of the individual constitutional complaint, its role as a mechanism of constitutional control, as well as the effectiveness of its adjudication. The work covers both theoretical and practical aspects: starting from the historical aspects of individual constitutional complaint among multiple jurisdictions to the assessment of actual necessity of this instrument and its influence in modern time, based on examples of Ukraine, the Republic of Lithuania and the Federal Republic of Germany. Main attention is paid to applicability of this mechanism in modern legal systems of constitutional control, in conjunction with multinational and supranational institutions. The work contains the author's recommendations for improving the legislative regulation and mechanisms for the protection of constitutional rights using the mechanism of constitutional control.
