    The work provides an analysis of the national security, political and social environment in Lithuania, the role of environmental factors for national security at the present moment, presents the future changes in the national security, describes the military security strengthening tendencies in Lithuania under the conditions of European Union (EU), NATO space and the urgent issues in the management of legal knowledge development of military men of the national security, political and social environment in Lithuania, this being of special importance in the training of the future officers-leaders under the conditions of globalization and strengthening the military security at a national and private security level in Lithuania under the conditions of globalization in the world. The generalized results of theoretical studies and research for strengthening national security now and in future are presented; conclusions and recommendations for improving the management of legal knowledge development under the conditions of Lithuania are formulated (Lithuanian experience).

    The article analyses organizational internal and external environments, their possible correlations with 4 components of sustainability, and the principal determination models for sustainability of organizations. Based on the general principles of sustainable development organizations, a model for the determination of organizational sustainability has been developed. The use of self-organizing neural networks allows the identification of the external sustainability of each forest enterprise and the endeavour to explore vital, social, antropogenical and economical efficiency. The determination of the forest enterprise external sustainability is expected to help better manage the external sustainability of forest enterprises and explain the reasons for a respective level of external sustainability.

    Lithuania and the whole Europe perceive the fast growing development of the corporate social responsibility CSR ideas and growing business orientation of activities, the results of which are directed not only towards profit but also towards stakeholders' needs, and human rights, environmental protection, social solidarity and cohesion. However, it is still perceived, especially in Lithuania, as quite contradictory so the purpose of this paper is to provide the comparative analysis of current trends and challenges in the CSR investments field. A field analysis of the investments in and factors of a CSR that shape up a corporate value added and competitiveness has been made in Lithuania.
