Talent management has been widely applied by the companies aiming to gain competitive advantage. Hence, the paper aims to reveal if systemic approach to talent management prevails. Grounded on theoretical considerations two studies were conducted. First, a sample comprised of the leaders and HR managers expressed the assumptions about talent management program. Second, a sample, comprised of employees, reported on the major aspects of talent management program. The analysis of qualitative and quantitative data let us reveal inconsistent approach towards talent management. The survey of leaders and HR managers revealed more positive attitude towards talent management than the survey of employees. The survey of employees discloses higher perceived importance and lower perceived effectiveness of prevailing talent management system. The main problems related with talent management system are linked to inefficient career planning, promotion and motivation of talented employees. The paper provides managers’ insights into the systemic approach to talent management.
