Social changes like globalisation, global economy, technological development, and Industry 4.0 presuppose a holistic approach to the issues of national security. There are numerous scientists and researchers who are investigating technologies that are going to change our industries. Cryptocurrency is a social-technological phenomenon, which determines many contradictory conclusions in the field of national security. First, the legal environment of this phenomenon is not regulated in many states; second, there are increasing trends in its turnover all over the world; third, it is identifiable as part of the critical infrastructure; fourth, cryptocurrency as a phenomenon causes problematic issues in the field of the national security. Two mainstream topics have been widely discussed over the past few years: ways to reduce the human impact on nature and the way that the industrial revolution 4.0 changes industries. The aim of this research topic is to analyse the positive and negative factors of big data implementation in the sector of cryptocurrency (as part of the industrial revolution 4.0) and in the sector of municipal waste management. The analysis reveals the differences and similarities between the cryptocurrency and municipal waste management sectors in the context of big data. The findings are significant for the estimation of the technological development of digitalized and non-digitalized sectors. View Full-Text

Entrepreneurship and sustainability issues. Vilnius : Entrepreneusrhip and sustainability center, 2019, vol. 6, no. 4., p. 2068-2080

Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technologies are widely discussed nowadays. The Bitcoin market value is discussed in top magazines, the names of people who earned money from cryptocurrencies are on the Richest People list. The Blockchain technology is said to be a one of disruption pioneers on the one hand, and cryptocurrency is said to be an illegal phenomenon on the other hand. The Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is based on digitalized industry is changing the power centres. Will cryptocurrency disrupt the financial sector? Or perhaps it will disrupt the retail market or global monetary policy. Disruptive technologies together with the Internet, Mobile Internet and Internet of Things are changing our world. While society has gained simple and reachable comfort for a cheaper price on the one hand, many people have lost their jobs on the other. Consequently, the authors presuppose discussion about the phenomenon of cryptocurrency through the context of social phenomena and legal regulation: divulge definitions, principles, relating to the topic; identify possible tendencies according to legal regulation and its practical realization.

Fourth Industrial Revolution, based on digital platforms is characterized by a convergence of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres. These phenomeon disrupts patterns of development and opens new paths to development. (WEFORUM. 2018) Digital technology development presuppose methodological challenges not only to business or individual interest, but holistic approach to national security issues. Hybrid threats, economic crises, social inequalities, and labor migration are among the main challenges of global security. What are possible manifestations of disruptive technology in national security interest in the broader sense? Is it possible timely to identify and react to threats to competitivness, "job killer" or law system? Critical infrastructure are parameter, which identifies assets or system as element of security. Topic reveal interaction between disruptive technology and critical infrastructure in the context of national security. Authors argued, that the theoretical insights, obtained by document analysis, classification, critical analysis, abstraction methods will be useful in practical use, to provide expert knowledge and a deeper understanding manifestations of disruptive technology in security issues at all levels.
