The development of pupils' social competence in Lithuanian secondary school

The content of general education in Lithuania is strictly regulated by law. By now there is no precise, defined competence list to be trained at schools. The paper focuses on analysis of development of pupils’ social competence at schools. The research was based on two methods, document analysis and observation the lessons at 7, 9 and 11 grades in purpose describe social competence training methods and emphasize importance of educators’ competencies in this process. The research shows that applying different training methods during lessons gives possibility to create unique and integral education system. It is possible to create quality interaction between pupils and educator only if educator’s subject-specific and general competencies are highly developed.
