Abstract
The transition from industrial to knowledge economy highlights the importance of intangible resources. One of the prevailing theories in this field is the intellectual capital theory, which allows to evaluate intangible resources on organizational as well as national level. This paper analyses the national intellectual capital theory and national intellectual capital evaluation models. According to theoretical assumptions and intellectual capital evaluation models a model of national intellectual capital evaluation was composed. This model was used to identify intellectual capital value of 30 European countries in 2006-2009. The calculations allowed determining the value of national intellectual capital and analyzing interrelations of structural, human, and intellectual capital.
