The article surveys the journal "Teisininkų žinios" (The Jurists' News) of 1952-1958 and 1965 published in Lithuanian language in Chicago (USA), by the society of Lithuanian Jurists. More than 400 Lithuanian lawyers emigrated westward in 1944 as the Soviet occupation approach. Due to the initiative of the most active group of them, this publication had a task to enter into relations with and keep in touch with scattered-about jurist deportees, to record their social meetings, and to contribute to the fight for liberation of Lithuania. In the short run, having been convinced that their professional knowledge became unnecessary in foreign lands and being forced to earn a living by various manual labour, they attempted to use this journal at least for keeping up their juridical mentality. Publications of the journal according to their subjects comprised three big categories: organizational-informational, political, and juridical. The article deals with the subject matter of each of these categories. It is emphasized that in this sense there was not much pure juridical information; they were more content with problems of the history of law. The standpoint of the jurist emigrants on the future legal system of emancipated Lithuania is elucidated in more detail.
