Review of different research approaches in economic security qantification

Abstract

Nowadays the analysis of economic security concept and different research approaches to economics security of the State or Region became as urgent as it has never been earlier. Economic security is a key concept in international economic relations. So in the conditions of economic globalization and internationalization it is really important to know which factors have biggest influence to economics security, how could be quantified the level of economic security in point of view of macroeconomic approach, individual approach etc. The paper examines four approaches covering the evolution of the concept „economic security” during history. The process of economic security maintenance is carried out differently in each period of the history. This difference is determined mainly by the evolution of threats. It is proved that threats are modified in the conditions of globalization, so that nowadays it appears another variable in this equation: national vulnerability and economic resilience. The aim of this paper is make a critical review of different research approaches to economic security and peculiarities of its quantification.
