fast development of information technologies (IT) forces the universities to watch carefully the IT knowledge and computer skills of the first course students and make changes in study courses according to the knowledge level of the students. In the paper the level of computer skills of the first course students of Law University of Lithuania during 2000-2003 years is analyzed in the context of the problems of knowledge society development. The problem under investigation is the modern methods for the most effective teaching of IT. The recommendations for promoting student’s skills and using IT integrally for organization, communication as well as studies subjects decision-making are given.
