Abstract (en)
Lithuania became a member of the EU in 2004. Membership in the EU and development of the EU have brought various problems. Among these problems sovereignty of the Member States and close integration of the EU are to be mentioned, as well as matching the superiority of the constitution on the national level and direct application and priority of the EU law, guarantees for the harmonized functioning of these two systems. Basically, it is a question of the relationship between the EU law and plurality of the national law. There are discussions on this topic in Lithuania. We will be interested into several constitutional aspects of the membership in the EU.
