The modern sociological thought has witnessed increasing interest to ethnic identities, especially in polytechnic states. The process of "building nations" and creating "political communities" that make up the new territorial states was put on the agenda of theoretical debates. To date, the projects to create "territorial nations" seem to be doubtful as ethnic identities fail to coincide with the boundaries of existing states. The failure of the Soviet Union as "territorial nation" is particularly excellent example. The general theory of national transformation have to cope with the many variations, stages of development and diffusion, cultural differences, geopolitical situations and sociopolitical orientations, Lithuanian case being one of the original cases which highlights some special features. This study is motivated by the issues which appear in the politics on ethnic minority groups and ethnic communities as well as recent situation in the Boarder regions of Lithuanian nation-state. The tensions in conflictual locations of the Boarder regions of Lithuania, both in towns and territorial units are seen as inspired by several important circumstances in national history, namely, by long history of belonging to and separation as well as the trends of migration. In general, the existence of the boarder regions could be explained by the pluri-ethnic boarder character of the most contemporary nation-states. Even those who nowadays seem to be the most homogeneous have a long period of pluri-ethnic relations. What's then the Nation is: essentialist reason, or construction? What do we mean by Integration in each of the cases of the definition of Nation?
