This article provides an overview of smart city approaches and presents a system for managing and controlling the urban structure. It examines innovative technologies, including IoT, artificial intelligence, and big data. The ideal smart city model integrates technology, governance, and citizens’ participation, focusing on creating sustainable urban centers. Particular attention is paid to the strategic aspects of interaction between public authorities, businesses, and citizens for the successful implementation of smart city projects. The example of Kharkiv is considered a successful solution to municipal services challenges, waste disposal, urban transport, and other areas. The digital platform used for optimizing procedures of managing and controlling municipal infrastructure is examined. Effective techniques for managing urban infrastructure can be developed and applied based on the findings. Innovative methods in smart city development utilize technology to improve the quality of life and suggest a more effective urban living environment.
