The article briefly presents general context as well as major preconditions and particularities of e-participation in Lithuania. The objective of the article is to review the development of Lithuanian institutional and public e-participation perception and to outline the main achievements of four research projects, which had a major impact on e-participation development in Lithuania. The attention was also paid to project, which focused on the introduction of public online consultation technologies and their development at the local level.
