Abstract (en)
This chapter gives an overview of cues to deception, followed by a discussion of how biases and beliefs about these cues affect the accuracy with which they can detect deception. Countermeasures employed by lie tellers and how these may affect deception detection accuracy will be discussed. In addition, interview techniques that facilitate reporting of information are presented, followed by a discussion of how these techniques can aid deception detection in repeated-delayed interview settings.
