The goal of this research is to examine how furniture companies organize themselves to meet challenges of custom manufacturing and how much space is there for accommodation of digital advantages of Industry 4.0. This paper presents the findings of a survey conducted in 2019 on 146 furniture manufacturers companies in Lithuania. The focus on the most important characteristics of manufacturing companies are put forward with intention to touch customised production, organizational management structure, digitalisation issues, tools for data managing and pricing, dynamics of the growth. Although the manufacturing sector is developing successfully economically, companies are still focused on the operations and materials of their production processes, and for a while they are ignoring knowledge management advantages and limited areas of digitalisation. Although the need for new opportunities is gradually becoming apparent, this demonstrates that those companies that are experiencing higher growth are changing their management systems and shifting to digital content.
