Aspects of the Treatment of Culture and it's Critique in the Lithuanian Strategic Document - “Lithuania’s Vision for the Future “Lithuania 2050””

Abstract

At the end of 2023, the Parliament (Seimas) of the Republic of Lithuania approved a strategy that had been almost two years in the making - "Lithuania's Vision for the Future Lithuania 2050" (State Progress Strategy "Lithuania's Vision for the Future Lithuania 2050", hereafter - LT - 2050, "Lithuania 2050"), the quality of which calls for a discussion of the outcome and the strategizing process itself, and the gaps in the strategy are the same ones that are characteristic of the strategy "Lithuania 2030". The first doubt arose from the fact that the very title of the strategy LT - 2050 (in Latin: „strata“ – „paved road“) contains a term that is almost identical to it - vision - which contains a wise search for the way to the future, but which, in other interpretations (image...mirage), to escape from greater concreteness and detail, and to slide down to the dangerous path of abstract slogans and the evasion of concreteness and detail.
