National intellectual capital defines the hidden value of a country’s intangibles, which are the source of value creation and competitiveness. Due to different strategic goals of each country the significance of national intellectual capital elements could differ. This article analyses the structural classification systems of national intellectual capital and reveals the components reflecting national intellectual capital. Perceptions about the significance of the influence of national intellectual capital components on long-term growth have been analysed in six EU countries. It has been found that significance is evaluated differently by respondents from different countries, though there is agreement between respondents from the same country.
