Abstract (en)
The global financial and economic crisis changed the main focus on exports to developed markets towards a more balanced economic structure supported by domestic and regional financial development. The crisis provides an opportunity for strengthening the international financial architecture through regional financial system reform, regional consensus and integrated decisions. There are different approaches to financial liberalization, prudential regulation, and financial innovation, and emerging markets has the range of weaknesses in the international financial system. The Baltic States faced the global financial crisis show the exceptional case in compare with other emerging economies.
