When democracy is ailing: The erosion of trust and performanceItem type:Publication, conference paper[2026][T1e][S002][1]; Šarkutė, Ligita4 th International Conference on Social and Health Sciences, April 22-23, 2026, Prishtina – Kosovo : Book of Abstracts., p. 56Many people still assume that high abstract support for democracy as an ideal means that democracy itself is healthy. In reality, in times of local and global turbulence, democracy and human rights have largely become formal or performative – enshrined in laws and rhetoric, yet ineffective in delivering genuine civic participation, rule of law, inclusion, or social justice.

Be to, skyriuje pažvelgsime į vidinio ir išorinio koučingo skirtumus, aptarsime koučingo kultūros reikšmę organizacijų sėkmei bei iššūkius, kurie kyla siekiant koučingą įtvirtinti kaip neatsiejamą organizacijos vystymo dalį.
32 Historical Comics for Understanding EuropeItem type:Publication, conference paper[2026][T2][H005][1]International Scientific conference "History: Sources and people" : Abstracts of the conference papers. 7–8 May 2026 = Starptautiskā zinātniskā conference : "Vēsture: avoti un cilvēki", 2026. gada 7.–8. maijā : Konferences referātu tēzes., p. 19Recent decades have brought an upward trend in creation of historical comics in Lithuania. Local illustrators, in collaboration with various authors, historians and museum experts, and drawing from the historical memory of their relatives, have boldly dived in traumatic periods of Lithuanian history conveying them to the general public in an attractive form. One of the examples could be the historical comic book Siberian Haiku (Jurga Vilė and Lina Itagaki, Sibiro haiku, 2017) which uses the exile of children to examine the repression of the Lithuanian population by the Soviets in the years after World War II. The modern community, especially children, appreciated publication of this comic, although there were doubts whether it is decent to create comics on such a painful topic for the people of Lithuania. Doubts were dispelled after reading the comic book as words and illustrations have revealed a compelling emotional image of the exile carried out by the Soviets, the fate of the exiles in the vastness of Siberia, and their complicated return to Lithuania after the death of Joseph Stalin. The aim of this report is to show the possibilities of using historical comics in studies of Europe at the university. To examine the defined subject, the research methods of document analysis and interview were used, which allowed to uncover the features and peculiarities of Lithuanian historical comic books and identify the ways in which they can be used in the study process. The sources of this report may be classified into two groups. The first includes historical comic books of Lina Itagaki and her co-authors, examining interwar and post-war historical events in Lithuania, Poland, the Soviet Union and Albania. The second group covers articles and interviews with Lina Itagaki, a historical comic book author and illustrator. Those sources have enabled us to distinguish the main motifs of the historical comic book themes chosen by her, and understand their creation process in depicting the image of tragic events. The author of the report has distinguished the following forms of use of historical comics: 1) a historical comic as a historical source, 2) a historical comic as a means to create an image of historical events, 3) a historical comic as a method of learning about people’s daily life, household aspects, and traditions, and 4) a historical comic as a way of preserving the historical memory of a family.

4 3 A Fatal Tracheal Impalement Injury: An Accidental Fall from a Height or Suicidal Event? A Case Report and Review of the LiteratureItem type:Publication, conference paper[2026][T2][M001,M004,S001][1] ;Biondo, Tindara ;Baldino, Gennaro ;Burrascano, Giorgia ;Tarzia, Pietro ;Spagnolo, Elvira VenturaBack to Basics : 78th Annual Conference of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences AAFS2026 : proceedings, February 9-14, 2026., p. 549Learning Objectives: Following this presentation, attendees will have gained a comprehensive understanding of impalement-related deaths and their mechanisms. Emphasis will be placed on the value of a multidisciplinary approach to case analysis Impact Statement: This presentation contributes to the forensic science community by underscoring the importance of meticulous crime scene inspection and a multidisciplinary forensic approach to the body, raising critical questions concerning the accidental versus suicidal nature of impalement events as well as implications for occupational safety and prevention. A comparative evaluation with current literature enhances the discussion and informs forensic practice. Introduction. Site inspections represent the initial and irreplicable step in corpse recovery. The involvement of a forensic pathologist in the early phases of investigation is crucial to ensure accurate collection of evidence and data. Impalement fatalities are rare in medico-legal practice.1 A literature review was conducted to explore the spectrum of injuries and scenarios that may lead to fatal or near-fatal impalement. 2 Case Report. A57-year-old male construction worker was found deceased at the base of a scaffold, exhibiting a penetrating injury to the anterior neck. Forensic examination of the scene revealed an iron stake, typically a plant support, with blood on its upper end, morphologically consistent with the neck wound. Autopsy, histological, toxicological, and instrumental analyses determined the cause of death to be passive impalement trauma to the anterior neck, resulting in tracheal rupture. Surveillance footage corroborated the accidental fall from the scaffold and the immediate, self-removal of the iron stake post-injury. Toxicology revealed blood alcohol positivity. Conclusion. This case highlights the diagnostic complexity of passive impalement trauma, as illustrated through comparative analysis and supported by existing medical literature. It emphasizes the critical role of forensic crime scene reconstruction in differentiating accidental events from suicidal acts. The multidisciplinary integration of pathology, toxicology, and video analysis proved essential in elucidating the sequence of events and determining the cause of death. Furthermore, the findings underscore the importance of stringent workplace safety measures and reinforce the value of interprofessional collaboration in forensic investigations. References: 1. 3 Macroeconomic measures of Bangladesh and Turkish economyItem type:Publication, [Макроекономічні показники економіки Бангладеш і Туреччини.]research article[2026][S1b][S004][7] ;Kader, S.A. ;Zayed, N. M. ;Akal, M.; Edeh, F. O.Naukovyi Visnyk Natsionalnoho Hirnychoho Universytetu., 2026, p. 247-253Purpose. The purpose of this research is to examine the major factors that influence sustainable economic growth and offer evidence-based policy guidance for emerging economies. Methodology. A timeseries analysis using data from the World Bank and IMF is conducted using Augmented DickeyFuller tests to ensure stationarity, Johansen cointegration to detect long-run relationships, and quantile regression to handle non-normality and multicollinearity. Findings. Quantile regressions indicate that capital accumulation in Bangladesh has an elasticity of approximately 1.65–1.72 (p < 0.01), the labor force is negatively associated with GDP (coefficients -1.69 to -2.82, p < 0.01), exports exhibit an elasticity of ≈0.81 (p < 0.01), and naturalresource rents depress GDP by ≈ -0.25 to -0.29 (p < 0.01). For Turkey, exports (≈0.38–0.39, p < 0.01) and FDI inflows (≈0.13, p < 0.05) are positively and significantly associated with GDP, and capital accumulation is positive and significant in several specifications (up to ≈1.01, p < 0.01). Originality. The study uses quantile regression to jointly evaluate multiple macroeconomic variables and contrasts two emerging economies with distinct economic structures - Bangladesh’s labor-intensive, export-driven model versus Turkey’s diversified industrial base, and highlights unique patterns such as labor inefficiency and resource dependency. Practical values. Policy-makers are advised to prioritize capital investment, enhance labor-market efficiency, diversify exports, and try to attract sustainable foreign investment. Reducing dependence on natural-resource rents and labor-intensive sectors can help emerging economies like Bangladesh and Turkey achieve more resilient, broad-based growth.
